Yom Hame’a Has Changed It's Format
How does it work?
Female IDF candidates who are designated to perform their Yom Hame’a will receive a summon through a text message. Before the summon, you are required to have a computer with an internet connection,a speaker, a microphone and a camera. Your computer must have the ZOOM application too. The groups in Yom Hame’a contain up to 6 candidates, and the stations match the computerized format. Yom Hame’a is divided in two: The first part is a group video chat where you will pass a number of stations with candidates from all over the country, and the second part is performing different computer tests.
Yom Hame’a isn’t mandatory for every girl - candidates who’s Hebrew level is 6 and above. A female candidate who’s Hebrew level is 6 and above but is placed in the Hebrew course in Michve Alon - will not receive a Yom Hame’a summon as a “Malshab”, but as a soldier after the Hebrew course if your Hebrew level is 6 and above.
Please note that performing your Yom Hame’a after your draft doesn’t hurt your scores! It even increases your options because you get another chance to show your improved Hebrew level and your skills will be much better. Girls who do not perform a Yom Hame’a will be placed due to personal data, the Preferences Questionnaire (שאלון העדפות) and the army’s needs.
