The ‘Tzav Rishon’ is divided into two parts - Part a which begins at home, from your computer! This part is not mandatory for new immigrants, but definitely recommended. If you have a family member \ friend \ someone who is a Hebrew speaker and can help you fill out the questionnaires required, it can speed up your ‘Tzav Rishon’ process!

After filling out Part a (if you decide to), you can continue to Part b - being called up to the recruitment bureau (לשכת הגיוס).

Part a - ‘Tzav Rishon’ from home (Non-mandatory for new immigrants)

Data Verification Questionnaire - Your personal area on the ‘Mitgaisim’ website:

This questionnaire is the first step you will pass in your recruitment process, and it’s job is to verify your personal data before you even arrive at the recruitment bureau. This questionnaire is designated for students in the 11th grade who are about to start their recruitment process, and has 5 steps: Personal information, family information, education information, contact information and a physiological questionnaire.                                                                                                               Filling Out and Sending the Medical Questionnaire:

The medical questionnaire includes questions about your medical situation. You can fill this questionnaire on the ‘MItgaisim’ website. In addition, it is very important to sign your family doctor on Part b of the questionnaire (including updated urine tests, an eye test signed by an eyeglasses optometrist and additional medical documents) and to upload the documents in advance to the personal area on the ‘Mitgaisim’ website. Just to be safe, bring the documents with you to your call-up at the recruitment bureau.

Passing a Hebrew Test Through the Phone Before Arriving At the Recruitment Bureau:

After filling out the Data Verification Questionnaire, you will receive a text message with the date that a psycho-technical tester will contact you. The tester will confirm your personal data with you and will test your level of Hebrew speaking. Heads up - the tests happen only once. There is no need in preparing beforehand.

                                                                                                          How Do I Arrive At The Recruitment Bureau?

You can charge your ‘Rav-Kav’ for free and ride to your summons, all you need is your ‘Rav-Kav’ and the ‘Mitgaisim’ website. Enter your personal area on the ‘Mitgaisim’ website, fill out the serial number under the title “פרטים אישיים” (personal data) in “הפרופיל שלי” (my profile), and 48 hours before your summon date you will be able to charge the “travel contract” in the ‘Rav-Kav’ application “רב-קו אונליין” or at one of the different online ‘Rav-Kav’ stations (you can find the locations of these stations on the “Rav-Kav online” website).

Part b - ‘Tzav Rishon’ at the Recruitment Bureau

The first station is the routing station where you will be asked to present your ID or a valid Israeli passport. Heads up - the order of the stations is random and is determined by how busy the recruitment bureau is.

                                                                                                              Psycho-technical Tests:

During your ‘Tzav Rishon’ day, you will pass the psycho-technical tests which are made of

several computerized tests that will determine your ‘Dapar’ (initial psycho-technical grading). These scores affect your future options for different roles you will be placed in. Don’t worry - before entering the testing room, you will be given full instructions on how to answer the questions.

New immigrants are eligible to pass a test in one of the following languages: English, Russian, French, Spanish, Amharic or Arabic.

What do the tests include? The tests are computerized and are made of several different chapters: Quantitative thinking, ability to follow instructions, formative and verbal analogies, and reading comprehension which affects the Hebew language’s symbolization. The test’s language and chapters are affected and suited to the level of your hebrew speaking.

The test begins with the reading comprehension chapter, and according to your answers and your hebrew speaking level it will be decided in what language the rest of the test and the instructions will be.

The test will be two hours long so you are required to be alert, focused and take the test seriously. Remember - these tests happen only once, and so it is important to freshen up before and try your best to get the highest score you can.

                                                                                                              Medical Tests:

In this station you will pass a medical check-up that will determine your medical profile. You will check your weight, your height, your blood pressure, your eyesight and colour-blindness. You will also have to state any diseases or medical issues you have or had in the past. This check will include a full-body examination (you can ask for a female/male doctor if needed).

                                                                                                              Personal Interview:

The personaa interview is a private conversation (for both men and women) for getting to know you and to give us information about your personality. With this information, we can find the role that suits you best in the future.

You’re probably wondering what ‘Kaba’ even means.

‘Kaba’ stands for quality group level. Its grades range between 41-56 and are decided according to:

- Your personal interview
- The psycho-technical tests
- Your education
- Your Hebrew grade

Your ‘Kaba’ will be updated in your personal area on the ‘Mitgaisim’ website about 14 days from your first summon date, and can change until your enlistment date.

When you have finished passing through all of the stations, don’t forget to return to the routing station on the entrance floor in order to make sure you have finished all the stations.

When finishing your first summon, you will be able to see your personal data in your personal area on the ‘Mitgaisim’ website: Your medical profile, ‘Kaba’ ‘Dapar’, and your Hebrew speaking grade. The goal is to finish the whole process in one summon.
