Where can the escort take me?

The examinations included a medical committee in the first order: an examination by a specialist doctor, a special medical committee, and a psychiatrist.

The introduction of the companion is for the medical examination only. Any meeting that is not the examination such as the meeting with the doctor or examinations of documents, or re-examination of the medical profile is not included in this procedure.

Please note it can only be a first degree family member or guardian over the age of 18 years old who can be a companion.

How do you submit the request?

Any entry for an escort to the recruiting office requires prior approval by the chief physician/ commander.

1. All ‘malshabim’ referred to a medical committee as part of the first order/ specialist examination/ psychiatrist who wishes to be accompanied will submit a reasoned request at least three weeks before the examination date through a written request sent to the personal area of the ‘mitgaisim’ website. It must include the details of the escort (full name, ID, and phone number)

• If the inspection was scheduled with less than 30 days notice, the army will submit the request at least 14 days before the date of examination.
• If the examination was scheduled with less than 7 days notice, the army will submit the request at least 24 hours before the date of the examination.
  
  2. If you are summoned for tests that do not include a medical examination such as checking documents (without physical examination), etc., the candidate’s request will be forwarded to the commander of the recruitment bureau for examination. If it is an unusual event or if it is due to a physical disability, there is a reason to approve the request.

• If the summon was set with more than 30 days notice, the army will submit the request at least three weeks before the date of the summon.
• If the summon was set with less than 30 days notice, the army will submit the request at least 14 days before the date of the summon.
• If the summon was set with less than 7 days notice, the army will submit the request at least 24 hours before the date of the summon.

Examining my application

1. Upon your arrival at the bureau accompanied by an escort, the escort will sign a permit to stay at the recruitment bureau and wait outside the bureau or in another place as instructed by the officials of the recruitment bureau until you arrive at the medical section. Please note the escort must obey all the instructions of the recruiting office officials.
2. When you arrive at the medical section your escort will be called to enter the examination with you.
3. The escort will not interfere with the course of the medical examination or the medical committee. He/ she will only be able to comment after the completion of the initial examination.
4. If the doctor/ chairman of the medical committee discovers that during the examination the escort:

• May harm the health of the patient, the doctor, or other patients
• May harm the quality of the medical care given to the patient, including damage the procedure for examining the fitness for service, the chances of the success of the medical treatment, or damage the possibility of receiving information from the patient
• Disruption to the work of the therapist or the treating staff, or harm the privacy of other patients and the harm cannot be prevented by other reasonable means

Then the doctor or chairman of the medical committee may order the removal of the escort and conduct the medical examination without the escort’s presence. If the escort refuses to leave the doctor or chairman may contact the police in the office for assistance in removing the escort from the place.

Highlights:

1. Entry to the recruitment bureau will be in accordance with the regulated entry permit as well as upon presentation of an identification card (ID card/ passport/ driver’s license).
2. If you do not wish to enter with the escort (even though you submitted the request as required) you will not be obliged to enter with the escort for the examination, you will be required to fill out a statement that you do not wish to be accompanied.
3. The escort’s entry into the recruitment office is only upon the arrival of the ‘malshab’ at the medical station and immediately upon completion he/ she will leave the bureau. Any deviation from this will be dealt with immediately and the escort will not be allowed to enter the bureau again.
4. The station’s order during the First order is random, therefore the escort must prepare to enter as soon as the ‘malshab’ is directed to the medical station.
5. The escort must be a first-degree family member/ guardian and must be over the age of 18 years old.
