Courses and Training in Michve Alon

All 'Michve Alon' courses begin with a basic training session, after which the soldiers continue to their specific courses, which are considered part of the military service duration. During most of the trainings the soldiers meet with a screening officer to determine their placement according to their personal index and the abilities they demonstrated during the training.

Oz' Course'
Whom is it for? Soldiers from the Druze community with a low level of Hebrew
How long does it take? About three months
What content is being taught? Hebrew lessons
Where will the soldiers be placed after the course? During the course, the soldiers meet with a screening officer who enables them to join a variety of positions in the IDF, including combat positions and combat support, according to their abilities

Yahav' Course (Resilience Course)'
Whom is it for? Females
How long does it take? About a month
What content is being taught? Workshops for strengthening personal resilience, tours, cultural activities, women’s empowerment classes, provision of tools for military service and adaptation to the military system
Where will the soldiers be placed after the course? Candidates who did not receive an appointment before the course will meet with a screening officer at the end of the course and will be able to influence their placement

Sa’ar' basic training'
Whom is it for? Males and females
How long does it take? About six weeks.
What content is being taught? During basic training, the soldiers are trained for rifleman level 02. In addition, educational and enrichment classes are taught to raise motivation, cope with difficulties, self-esteem, empowerment and adaptation and preparation for the military framework.
Where are they placed? At the end of basic training, the soldiers meet a screening officer who places them according to their personal index and abilities.

Eyal' Course'
Whom is it for? Member of the Bedouin community with a low level of Hebrew.
How long does it take? About three months.
What content is being taught? Hebrew studies and content that contributes to preparation for military service, acquaintance with the Israeli society, tours, learning about the IDF history and strengthening the sense of belonging.
Where are they placed? Their position is determined before enlistment.

Homeland Course ('Moledet')
Whom is it for? Returning residents and new “Olim” (new immigrants) with a high level of Hebrew. There are courses for combat as well as non combat positions.
How long does it take? About two months
What content is being taught? Enrichment programs, tours in Israel and study of Zionism, Israeli culture, history, etc.
Where are they placed? Candidates who did not receive a placement will meet with a screening officer at the end of the course.

Lehava' Course'
Whom is it for? New “Olim” (females only) with a moderate level of Hebrew
How long does it take? About two months
What content is being taught? Zionism, womens empowerment etc.
Where are they placed? During the course, the soldiers meet with a screening officer who assigns them to a variety of positions according to their personal index, the abilities they demonstrated during the course and their level of Hebrew.

Carmel' Course'
Whom is it for? New “Olim” (males only) with a moderate level of Hebrew.
How long does it take? About three months
What content is being taught? Enrichment programs, tours in Israel and study of Zionist, Israeli culture, history, etc.
Where are they placed? At the end of the course, the soldiers meet with a screening officer who assigns them to a variety of positions according to their personal index, the abilities they demonstrated during the course and their level of Hebrew.

Har’el' Course'
Whom is it for? New 'Olim' with a low level of Hebrew.
How long does it take? About three months.
What content is being taught? Hebrew studies and content that contributes to preparation for military service, enrichment programs, tours in Israel and study of Zionism, Israeli culture, history, etc.
Where are they placed? At the end of the course, the soldiers meet with screening officers who assign them to a variety of positions according to their personal index, the abilities they demonstrated during the course and their level of Hebrew.

Tagat' High School Diploma Course'
Whom is it for? The TAGAT course is the only course at the Michve Alon that is not held at the beginning of military service and is intended for soldiers who did not complete 12 years of schooling.
How long does it take? About five months
Where are they placed? The content is taught in a classroom, individually, and focuses on English, Civics, Geography, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics, Enrichment and Learning Skills.
Please note that participation in the course is optional and in order to take part, you must provide a recommendation from your commander.
